Celebrating the Sacraments

Baptisms are performed the second and fourth Sundays at 1:00 pm.  If this is your first child, or at least five years since your last child was baptized, you must attend a Parent Baptismal Preparation Session, which is the first Friday of the month.  Please call the Parish Office to schedule the Baptism, and, if necessary, to attend a Baptismal Preparation Session.

First Reconciliation / First Communion

The sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated by second graders in the Winter, and Holy Communion is received by second graders in the Spring.  A two-year preparation is required.  Parents are expected to attend sacramental meetings to help prepare their child for these sacraments.

The sacrament of Confirmation is celebrated by the eighth graders in the Spring.  A two-year preparation period is required.  Parents are expected to attend a sacramental meeting.  Any adult who is a Baptized Catholic and has received First communion and is seeking Confirmation, please contact the parish office at 847.956.7020 or the RCIA Director at 847.956.1175 for further information.  Preparation sessions are usually held in the Spring at a parish to be determined.

Couples should refrain from setting a firm wedding date until they have met with a Priest or Deacon to complete their plans.  This should be done at least four months before the wedding ( much sooner if either has been previously married).  The requirements for marriage in the Church will be discussed during the initial interview.View the Wedding Booklet.

Anointing of the Sick

There is a Parish Communal Anointing of the Sick in the Fall and Spring.  At these times, shut-ins, the physically impaired, the elderly, and the chronically ill may be anointed.  If a member of your family needs to be anointed at other times, please contact the Parish Office.
